Creative Songwriting

creative songwriting

I channel original, heart-centered music.

Alice Crady is a multi-disciplinary artist and writer with years of musical training and performance experience.

As a highly sensitive person, Alice dove into Jungian psychology to enrich her creative process and use music as a therapeutic tool and a way to connect with others on a deeper level. Shadow work, dream tending, and feminine psyche studies cleared space for a more authentic voice and self-expression.

When I sit down to play with music, I listen to the feelings and stories that need to be expressed. When the right lyrics, melody, chords, and vocal tones click to really channel something real, it’s exhilarating. Letting the music be a spiritual process makes everything make way more sense. I get to be an instrument for something bigger to shine through.

“Cat Dreams”

I wrote a song about my housemate’s Bengal cat, Sonu. Watching him passionately waiting by the door and crying to go outside for walks inspired this playful piece. Collaborating with Elizabeth Reber on instrumental harmonies took it to a new level.

“Compassion”

This song addresses the process of being with deeper inner pain and finding ways to nurture that experience. Every time I play and channel this piece, I feel grounded, centered, and connected to presence.

“Plants – Chaos Remix”

I wrote this song when I was feeling sick and a lot of melancholy. Talking to my plants, I gradually came home to myself. 🌻

“Spark of Life”

Leading up to my 30th birthday, I wanted to write a song for myself. While the song started as a lament over everything I haven’t accomplished yet, it transformed into a celebration of my life and a love story. I’m so grateful to Elizabeth Reber, who supported me with vocal and instrumental harmonies (and encouragement in my songwriting process).

“Breakthrough”

I wrote a song about fear and all the colorful ways it weaves through our lives. Writing this piece helped me move to a place of certainty. Creating the resolution happened slowly, then suddenly — likely, as expected.

“Our Festive Ride”

Celebrating six months of connection, I wrote about my relationship with Anas. I describe the unfolding of love through inner and outer challenges–and the holiday season. It’s the closest to a Christmas song I’ve ever written, and I shared it on Christmas Eve.

“Trust Me”

My second song on the ukulele, this one’s about moving on. I wrote this from a loving perspective to help me get over a breakup and other difficult feelings. This song feels so sweet and uplifting each time I sing.

“Material World”

After an extended sabbatical, I’ve re-prioritized my career over the last year. I explored healing my relationship with my inner masculine. Slowly, I’m re-learning how to value structure in my life.

“I’ll Stay”

I wrote this song to comfort myself a few years ago during deep shadow journeys. The lyrics feel like my inner love story and self-acceptance journey.

Also, thank you to Elizabeth Reber, another talented musician, singer, and songwriter. Her ongoing encouragement, collaboration, and celebration help me feel safe and supported along my dynamic music journey.

Finally, thank you to the “De-Centered at The Center” Open Mic Night hosts, Liz and Theory, for creating a warm, welcoming space for artists to share their passion and creations. This space attracts many talented, kind, and genuine artists and supporters.
